Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Lorde of the Farts ("Lorde", "we", "us") operates the Lorde app and the website at lorde.aquanox.co.nz. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. By using Lorde you agree to the practices described here.

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the service and keep leaderboards fair:

• Account details — email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), your public alias, and optional profile fields (real name, gender, age, location, weight, height).
• Performance recordings — audio clips of your recorded farts and the acoustic measurements we derive from them (decibels, pitch, duration, etc.).
• Food logs — the foods you report eating before a performance.
• Location — approximate location (with permission) used only to rank you on the "Local" leaderboard within ~50 km.
• Usage & advertising identifiers — standard analytics and advertising IDs so we can show ads and improve the app.

3. How we use it

• To create your account and let you log in.
• To calculate scores, rank performances, award achievements, and run leaderboards.
• To power social features (friends, reactions, weekly ceremonies).
• To prevent abuse and fraud (e.g. detecting fake or played-back performances).
• To serve advertisements (see §5) and to improve the app.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only where necessary to operate the service:

• Public leaderboards & social — your alias, scores, and (where you choose) your recorded performances may be visible to other users. Your email and real name stay private.
• Service providers — hosting and database providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
• Advertisers — see §5.
• Legal — where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

5. Advertising

Lorde is ad-supported. We use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect your advertising ID and usage data to deliver and measure ads. Ad personalisation can be controlled in your device settings (e.g. Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Opt out of personalisation). 6. Storage, retention & deletion

• Data is stored on secure servers. Audio clips are capped in size to keep storage small.
• We keep your account and performance data while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards for leaderboard integrity and fraud prevention.
• You can request deletion of your account and data at any time — use the account & data deletion page or the in-app Me → Delete Account option, and we will remove your personal data.

7. Children

Lorde is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, notifying users.
